Display Module FAQ

Pierre-

We are currently adding the "Plate" capability to the Display module so that
one work with the summed channels with a Kistler plate.

Regarding to Export at a data rate different that the original video
recording rate, I believe you cam enter a value diferent that the frame rate
& the program will interpolate data at the requested rate. Let me know if I
am wrong.

Also you reported that the Display module did not show video field by field
but rather frame by frame. Unless I am mistaken the program should be able to
advance field by field, but depending on exactly what data has been selected,
it may not appear that this is so. There can be a number of data sets active
which may have at different time interval associated with each one. The
program displays the data synchronized so it may be that on set the data does
not display each possible data point when stepping to the next time.  When
stepping to the next time to display, the program uses the data set from the
grid of active data sets with the longest time between data points to
determine the next time for which to display data. So if the selected data
set is at 30hz for a graph then the video will display images at 30hz as
well. Let me know if I am mistaken.

Best, Jeremy

Hello Susan,

I will provide answers below each of your questions.

Yes! These procedures can be found in the Display program help file. Raw data can be graphed before or after filtering using the following steps:
a. Open the display program
b. Select the 3D icon and select the desired sequence.
c. Select the NEW 3D button to specify the data trial.
d. You will see the option to select RAW POSITION in the QUANTITY column.
e. Select the OK button to graph the data.

Yes! These procedures can be found in the Display program help file. Raw data can also be exported using the following steps.
a. Follow steps a through e listed above
b. Select GRAPH, DATA to display the graph options. Make certain that RAW ONLY is selected in the Curves section.
c. Select OK to graph the data.
d. Select EXPORT, WORKSHEET, NEW and name the worksheet.
e. Select the OPEN button to create the worksheet.
f. Select EXPORT, WORKSHEET, SAVE to display the Export Channel Options menu.
g. Enter the Caption, X-Axis Start/End and X Increment values and press the OK button to save the data to the worksheet.

The 0.0 time is determined by the Synchronizing Point specified in the Digitizing Module. If no Synch Point is specified by the user, the software assumes that the first from is the Synch Point and therefore, sets the time for the first image equal to 0.0 seconds.

The Time Value can be set to 0.0 only be specifying the Synch Point at the point where you wish the time to equal 0.0 seconds.

I have tried to repeat this situation and the data exports as expected. Therefore, there is either something wrong in the procedure or something different in your data file. I suggest you follow the steps listed in Questions 1 & 2 above. If you are still experiencing problems exporting data, then you should attach the files to an Email and send them to me for examination. We would need the *.CF, *.1t (and all other related *.t files), and the *.3d file where * indicates your sequence name.

See Answers 3 & 4 above.

Hello Donna,

There are several programs available for the printing, graphing and export
functions.  A brief description of them is listed below.

APAS2TEXT - used to export the data for each individual point that has been
digitized.  This data is exported to ASCII format so the user can perform
"custom" analysis.

APASVIEW - Used to simultaneously display graphs, video, spreadsheet data.

DISPLAY - Very similar to APASView but also includes ability to export the
graphed data to worksheet format for additional analysis by Lotus, Excel
etc.

Each of these modules also have the Windows pull-down help files for
additional information.

I hope this helps to answer your questions.

Sincerely,

John Probe
