The heights of release for the best and worst discus throws were : 1.5 (1.4) m for Riedel, 1.8 (1.9) m for Dubrovschchik, 1.6 (1.4) m for Kaptyukh, 1.2 (1.4) m for Washington.

The elapsed times to complete the turns for the best and worst throws were: 3.0 (1.4) sec. for Riedel, 2.3 (1.6) sec for Dubrovschchik, 1.9 (1.1) sec for Kaptyukh, 1.2 (1.4) sec for Washington.

Riedel Best & Worst #1

Dubrovschchik Best & Worst #2

Kaptyukh Best & Worst #3

The combined effect of the projection velocity, projection angle, and height of release resulted in best and worst throws of: 69.4 [OR] (63.1) m. by Riedel 66.6 (59.7) m by Dubrovschchik , 65.8 (63.8) m for Kaptyukh, 65.4 (61.3) m for Washington. The aerodynamic variables of angle of attack and spin were not deter-mined for these throwing trials.
