Common Throwing Errors

  • SIT-OUT EARLY - LETS ARM LAG BEHIND, DRAG ARM THROUGH. RELEASE IS EARLY & HIGH IN STRIKE ZONE

  • SIT-OUT LATE - NO UTILIZATION OF SERAPE MUSCLES OF TRUNK, PERSON IS ARM THROWER

  • LACK OF ARM ROTATION - THROW FROM T POSITION. REQUIRES LARGE SHOULDER FORCES TO ARM. PITCHER DOES NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OF ELASTIC LOADING OF MUSCLES

  • OVERSTRIDE - ACCENTUATED WEIGHT SHIFT. LOWER BODY IS IN FRONT OF UPPER BODY RESULTS IN LOW THROWS

  • STRIDE-LOCKED KNEE - PRODUCES EXCESSIVE FLEXION OF HIP MOVEMENT OVER PLANT FOOT

    • POTENTIAL BACK/HAMSTRING TIGHTNESS
